Royal Castle Child Development Center has provided childcare for over 21 years to almost 2,000 children. The school is nationally certified through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is a 5- star rated child care provider in New Orleans through the State of Louisiana Quality Start Child Care Rating System. Royal Castle was the first 5-star center in the Greater New Orleans area.

Located in a low-to-moderate income community in New Orleans, Royal Castle provides high quality education and care in a positive, nurturing environment centered on the development of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children from a variety of racial and socio-economic backgrounds. Royal Castle feeds the mind, body and spirit of the children they serve through the provision of quality care, education, physical activity and healthy food in a loving, nurturing and cheerful environment.

By focusing on a holistic approach to education and care that encourages parental involvement and educates the entire family, Royal Castle helps children and families achieve long-term success. Consequently, we not only focus on the child's development, but also on assisting the development of parents to start them on a path of continued involvement in their children's education at home and in school. By building the family unit, Royal Castle ensures that every Royal Castle Kid obtains the educational foundation and learning start that they deserve!

Under the directorship of Owner/Operator, Pearlie Harris, Royal Castle has assembled the highest quality professional staff to provide day-to-day instruction over the student body. Teachers are tasked with providing a robust curriculum that fosters the development of the total child and achieve programmatic goals including reading at least three books a day to students, promoting active physical play and developing students' social skills, emotional skills and vocabulary. The addition of foreign language to the curriculum is helping Royal Castle Kids prepare for the global world by receiving instruction in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, French and American Sign Language. Additionally, Royal Castle works with a number of partners and certifying organizations to ensure that their care is age appropriate, effective, enriching, and of the highest quality. These partners include Total Community Action Head Start and United Way Success By 6.
